Verbal Reasoning | Solving word-based problems using verbal similarities and analogies.
Non-Verbal Reasoning | Solving shape and pattern problems through visual reasoning.
Spatial Reasoning | Identifying and visualising how shapes change or fit together.
Quantitative Reasoning | Solving number problems using sequences and relationships.
Creative Writing & Comprehension
The English paper tests comprehension or writing skills, focusing on inference, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation.
Mathematics
Assesses problem-solving abilities and arithmetic skills.
Interview
The interview lets staff assess each student’s character, interests, and fit for the school.
Scholarships
The Stephen Perse Senior School offer incredible scholarships starting at 5%. Candidates can apply for and hold mulitple scholarships. Read more here.

I attended The Stephen Perse from Year 5 to Year 6 before joining The Perse for the rest of my school journey, so I understand first-hand the preparation and dedication required to secure a place at some of the top schools in East Anglia. Having had tutors in both English and Maths for my entrance exams, I experienced the difference that expert guidance can make, which inspired me to create our own bespoke preparation courses. Our mission is simple: to help your child gain a place at their first-choice school with confidence. Over the past few years, 100% of our students have received offers from The Stephen Perse, a testament to the quality and effectiveness of our support.

We offer personalised courses to prepare your child for entry into The Stephen Perse. Your tutor will design bespoke lesson plans, homework, and targeted assessments tailored to their needs.

Begin learning and understanding core concepts in Maths and English from the National Curriculum. Try initial past papers with their tutor to find out what needs improvement.
Start preparation of verbal and non-verbal reasoning sections. Also begin having rigorous sessions on harder sections of the paper. Mock interviews & activites.
