Perse 11+ FAQ
What question types are on the Perse School 11+ ?
The Perse 11+ (the Quest assessment) tests Maths, English comprehension, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, alongside a handwritten creative writing task. Shortlisted children are then invited to a group activity and a one-to-one interview. Most questions are multiple choice and the online test is adaptive, so it adjusts to your child's answers.
What is the Perse Quest assessment?
Quest is the online, adaptive test the Perse uses for 11+ entry. It replaces traditional paper exams for the first stage and covers Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Our diagnostic and full packages are built specifically around this format.
How should my child prepare for the Perse 11+ creative writing task?
The creative writing is handwritten and marked against specific criteria. Our packages include writing tasks marked in-house by our tutors, with written feedback on each submission so your child improves with every piece.
Do you offer a mock interview for the Perse 11+?
Yes. The Full Preparation Package includes an online mock interview credit plus 50 practice questions and model answers, so your child walks into the real interview already familiar with the format.
Are there past papers for the Perse 11+ ?
The Perse releases only a small number of official sample papers, and no full past papers with answers. Because of this, most families prepare using practice papers built to match the exam. Our packs are written to mirror the Quest format, timing and question types, and every paper comes with a full mark scheme.
How is the Perse 11+ scored?
Scores are standardised for age, so your child is compared fairly against others born at different times of the year. Our membership area logs each paper's score and turns it into a readiness rating so you can see where your child stands week by week.
When is the Perse 11+ exam and when should we start preparing?
Registration and assessment for Year 7 entry run through the autumn term of Year 6. Most families start preparing in the spring or summer beforehand. Our six-week Full Preparation Package is designed to be run in the summer leading up to the assessment.
Can we use the papers without tutoring?
Yes, the packages are designed for independent preparation. Families who want extra support often combine the Full Programme with one-to-one sessions, but the papers, mark schemes and guidance stand on their own.
